The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate, Patrick Amuriat has been forced to cancel his campaign rally at Panyimur town council Pakwach District after his supporters died in a car accident.
About 15 others were left nursing broken injuries when a truck carrying Amuriat’s public address system overturned at Ganda village, Panyimur town council, Pakwach District.
Authorities said the truck driver failed to negotiate a sharp corner that has lately become a killer spot for travelers.
Amuriat on Tuesday said he had suspended his campaign activities to mourn the death of his supporters and also help those in hospitals.
The residents say the spot is prone to car accidents.
In October 2008, four traders from Koboko district died on their way to Panyimur market at the same spot.
In May 2011, 17 traders died at the same spot as their headed to Koboko district.
